Reynolds Freezer Paper showing roll, non shiny/matt side plus shiny side

Reynolds Freezer Paper has a shiny plastic coating on one side that adheres temporarily to fabric when ironed and once removed it can be reattached several times before losing its gripping ability. Having discovered (via several discussions in Facebook groups) the existence of such a potentially useful product I was very keen to try it for myself. Continue reading

Ditsy Distraction Spoonflower Fabric

Ditsy can be distracting! Ditsy v Organised. Seamless Repeats! What does it all mean? Fabric of course!!

How many seconds, minutes or hours of my life have been consumed by looking at fabric?

Trying to figure out where the ‘Repeat’ is occurring…. discerning what ‘works’ & what doesn’t! BTW it is impossible to be totally objective in my appraisals & I end up being subjective based on my own preferences. I love order & symmetry!

Ditsy is hard when you like order & balance!! Continue reading

Sometimes Life, Love and Creative Dreams don’t always turn out the way you first imagined. But if your heart is in the right place rest assured that even the bitter sweet moments can make you a better, stronger person.

There comes a time when ‘moving forward’ is the best option. Now is that time…..

Quick Brown Fox Soft Toy Design

My upcoming Sewing Pattern PDF seems to be a life time in the making! If only creating a PDF was quick!

I have a 3rd entry for the Sew Muma Sew 6 Weeks of Softies Competition and again I am more interested in the potential publicity that can be provided by participating than in trying to win a prize. You see even though I have been making Soft Toys off & on since I was 12 years old I have only had an online presence for just over a year. In fact the 28th of March this year will mark one year since I released my “Wish for a Pony” Hobby Horse Sewing Pattern PDF.

Wish for a Pony Fabric Dream

I was ‘Horse Mad’ as a child and sometimes kids just don’t grow up! My Youth Hobbies pages document this fact!

Bay is my favourite horse colour followed by Buckskin or Palomino and sometimes dappled Grey. But then again Chestnut is nice too….and don’t get me started on Paint horses!! Plus all the marking variations if only I could make a realistic horse of every imaginable colour and choose from a Blaze or Star or Snip!

Well you know what? I am well on my way to being able to do that very thing. Check out this Page too to see the Spoonflower.com fabrics that I have designed so far.

On the 24th of February a Postage Box containing several Yards of Spoonflower Faux Suede fabric arrived in our mail box! Talk about exciting! I had big plans…
